Collection: Edible Food Colors

Edible cake food colors are specially formulated colorants used in baking and cake decoration to safely add vibrant or subtle shades to cakes, icings, fondants, and other edible decorations. They are food-grade, tasteless (or nearly so), and designed not to affect the texture of baked goods.

🎂 Types of Cake Food Colors

1. Liquid Food Colors

  • Water-based and easy to use
  • Best for lightly tinting batters and icings
  • May dilute mixtures if used in large amounts

Use: Sponge cakes, light frosting

2. Gel Food Colors

  • Thick, concentrated, and highly pigmented
  • Gives deep colors without changing consistency

Use: Buttercream, fondant, royal icing (most popular for cakes)

3. Paste Food Colors

  • Even more concentrated than gels
  • Provides intense shades with very small quantity

Use: Professional cake decorating

4. Powder Food Colors

  • Dry pigments, either natural or synthetic
  • Can be used dry or mixed with alcohol/water

Use: Dusting, chocolate coloring, dry decorations

5. Oil-Based Food Colors

  • Specifically made for fat-based products
  • Mix well with chocolate and candy melts

Use: Chocolates, ganache
